yeah...

So, today when I was out earning a living, this lady came through the drive through and ordered a hot dog. Me, being a good little soldier, made her her hot dog. As I was handing it out to her I brilliantly said "The ketchup with a hot dog and relish..." Yeah. She looked at me like I was slightly retarded, and then busted out laughing. I quietly slunk away from the window, never to be seen again.

So, lately I've been contemplating where I should move next spring/summer. And I can't decide. Something with a view like this would be nice...

A List

Here's a list of ideas to do if you're ever in Michigan. I won't advise all of these, but hey, they're ideas. Not all (or any) have to be good ones.

*Snorkel in Lake Superior in June.
*Climb the cliffs on the hottest day of the summer. in jeans.
*Hike to the mouth of the Montreal in flip flops and a skirt. (through the bushes)
*Have fires in illegal places.
*Feed Joan Mountain Dew at 2 a.m.
*Be paparazzi to unsuspecting people.
*Shoot stuff.
*Go fishing at midnight.
*Dress and act like crazy old ladies.

My new baby

This is similar to the gun I bought. Its a Russian military gun from WWII- complete with the bayonete on it. I got a pouch, the oil can and a sling with it. I need to clean the packing grease and get a reacoil pad for it before I can shoot it. :(

Have you ever noticed on that on Sundays everything seems to slow down? Everything seems so much more peaceful and slower... I like waking up and you can tell that it's Sunday. Am I all alone on this one or does anyone else notice this?

Yesterday

We went to the Quincy Mine and toured it. It was awesome. It's crazy to think that guys actually worked in there with no power tools.

the life and times of.... me

First off, a confession. I miss this. When I go home, I think the first thing I'm going to do is chores. I never thought I'd miss milking cows, but I do. That kind of scares me.


Julie and I went up to Copper Harbor for the day on the 4th. Sally and some other people were camping up there for the weekend. The fireworks were awesome- probably the best I've ever seen. I would defiantly recommend going and watching them if you ever get the chance.

And, I'm running a 5k in September. Yikes. I guess that means that I might want to start running.

I hate to disappoint all of you who think that I live a wild and exciting life, but that's all folks.

Whew!

I made it to Michigan all safe and sound. So far its been really fun. I started work today. Yesterday Sally, Joan, Kim, and I went to Bond Falls. It was beautiful. until I go to MI! :) but... before Tuesday morning I have to:
*pack ALL of the clothes that I'm bringing
*locate and wash them clothes first

*get my car fixed
*milk all this weekend

I know its not a very long list, but all the jobs on it are just time consuming. So this may be my last post from MN! Yay!

Kickin' it on the homefront

*I finally started on some junking projects... this table was the first one that I started- and for all of you who redo stuff- I ask you in the name of all things holy to never, never, never get the brilliant idea to linoleum the top of your table. Or if you do get the brilliant idea, I beg you to never act upon it... future junkers will thank you for it in years to come.
Pictures of the progress will be posted as soon as I find the USB cord for my camera.

*We're turning our garage into a junking building to go along with our opium den bathroom. What can I say... we're a bunch of junkies :P

*I'm moving to the UP at the beginning of June.

*Our house spring cleaning is done. We started on the yard work today.

*Back to the junking, we found a sweet bench in the outside sauna that we are going to paint bright red. We found the red paint in the garage. I grin at it. for hours.

*We're morphing into hippies. We are hanging all our clothes on the line, we started a compost pile and joined the free-cycle. And planted herbs. not the illegal kind.

*Sometimes I pretend I'm a Super Secret Spy Agent. just for fun.

Hummm....that's about all I got for now.

The Best Medicine

Yesterday I set out to get my creativity flowing once again and to clear my head. So, I dusted off my camera and walked around in the woods seeking inspiration. This is what I found. I wasn't sure how they would turn out considering how bright it was. The sunset pictures are from a local park. Comments, questions, critiques...they're all welcome :)

a little help

I need some advice on these things that I found out in the garage. I'm thinking that this will end up in our kitchen but I'm not sure if it will fit in- for those of you who don't know our kitchen is dark red and turquoise.

I want to refinish/paint this chair. I was thinking maybe a cream or white, but I'm not completely sold on that idea.







And then there's this table- no idea what to do with it or where it will go- but it's coming in our house.

I have to ask- can copper be painted? I really like the shape of this bed frame but not so much the copperness of it all.

So here I am asking for all of your wonderful ideas and helpful hints. And I promise that if I ever get them finished I will post the end results. Which might be a little scary.

This is the most recent picture that I have of Henry. And it is one of my favorites because his eyes are super blue. The picture of the ship is in Duluth, at the Maritine Musuem in Canal Park. It's a pretty nifty place if you like history or if you are just bored and happen to be in Duluth. I didn't take many pictures of the boats and such because it was raining, but I thought that I'd be a dear and show you the ones that I did take. Happy days to all of you.
